July 2010...Announcing the arrival of a new addition to the Karatta Wines family!  2009 Karatta ’12 Mile Vineyard’ Pinot Noir

Mid crimson in colour, the first release of the Karatta ’12 Mile Vineyard’ Pinot Noir provides fragrant cherry and strawberry notes backed by underlying spice and perfume.  The vibrant flavours of red currant and cherry fruits have a softly textured mouth feel with a lingering length of persistence.

Wild yeast fermentation, 30% whole berry inclusion, 14 day ferment time, malolactic fermentation in barrel, 11 months in French oak barriques (1-3 years old).


March 2010...Chardonnay was harvested for the first time from our vineyard 12 March.  It has been combined with fruit from our neighbour, Almanda Vineyard.  We eagerly await the release of this Robe Chardonnay under the Karatta label towards the end of 2010.
